Can someone help me navigate this site? I do not see when or where pickleball is played
I think this site is more for meeting up at courts. But this site is not very active at all. If you’re on FB, join the Pinellas Pickleball FB page and under the “Feature” tab at the top, you can see a complete list of PB courts (and other info) in Pinellas. There are also a few apps like Pickleball places to play.
There’s a Pickleball Woman FB page with over 20K women on it. Good place for info also and - everything pickleball.
I looked on FB which I really do not care for but there was no pinellas pickleball
fouund it
I have never played pickleball but I want to learn. Do I need my own paddle? Where do I go to learn?
Hey Charlene. I'm a newbie (played about 50 games) but I've taught three or four people. I'm down to play sometime. I have the extra paddle. You can see if you like it. Fossil Park courts are usually relaxed, whereas Crescent Lake is pretty popular and more challenging to snag an open court. Either way, you're in the right place. You'll find someone to play. It’s good to have your own paddle. There are
decent beginner paddles on amazon for $40+
Not sure where you’re located but Coquina Key Park has beginner games around 5pm every Sunday. Just show up and ask for Derek and he can get you started. It’s not a lesson but other players can help you and show you how the basics. Some people at Coquina Key may have an extra paddle you could use too. It’s fun, relaxed beginner group. Enjoy!
Todd can I call you and set something up for next week
Thanks Amy
Sure no problem.
Thank you for the reply back stating this is a new event, but where is the location for this new event?
We have a clinc coming up sat at Walter fuller. 9-12. Need to fill two spots
Is there open play at Crescent Lake everyday/night? Are there any additional parks that have open play?
Most free parks Re open play. There are certain evenings that the st pete league plays.
i think Monday evening is league play at Bartlett courts, Tuesday’s league play at JW Cate Rec Center (outdoors) and Thursday evenings, league play at Coquina Key.
Beginner open & intermediate play at Coquina Key on Sunday evenings.
** most free courts are open play** (typo above)
Crescent Lake: This time of year, there are people joining open play every morning from about 7 am to probably 1 pm (not sure when it's been ending lately, maybe later) and then again from 4 pm until 9 pm except Saturday evening which is pretty light and sometimes doesn't last until 9 pm.
Thanks.
